Spring is here!
Spring is a wonderful season! It’s like everything comes back to life! Everything’s budding and blossoming! We feel a fresh start! We feel like new creatures!
Well, we are! Because of God’s eternal plan which He had before the foundation of the world! God sent His only Son to destroy the works of the devil and make us into new creatures! When we met the Lord Jesus Christ and entered into the waters of baptism, our old self died! We were raised to walk in newness of life! He made everything new!
Our Lord accomplished everything He came to do and said, “It is finished.” He provided everything we would ever need. He provided the “double cure” – salvation for our souls and healing for our bodies.
Matthew 8:16-17 When the even was come they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all that were sick. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying,
“Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.”
Isaiah had prophesied in Isaiah 53:5:
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement of our peace was upon Him;
and with His stripes we are healed.
He went to the cross for us – for whosoever will! He could’ve called 12 legions of angels. A legion consisted of 6000. That would’ve been a total of 72,000 angels. But He didn’t! He paid the price alone. He suffered the most cruel and torturous death ever suffered.
Isaiah 52:14 says “His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.”
He did it for you. Then He descended into hell and spoiled principalities and power – made a shew of Satan and his evil powers (exposing them to public infamy). He led captivity captive!
He “always causes us to triumph in Christ”. (II Corinthians 2:14.)
He said God the Father had given Him all power in heaven and earth. Then He said that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them!
So now Jesus has provided for us, forgiven us, called us, sanctified us and given us power to be witnesses. And now He says that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit live in us!
God’s eternal plan. What a marvelous plan! The mystery hidden from the foundation of the world: Christ in us – the hope of glory! (Col. 1:27)
The early church would greet each other with the Paschal greeting, “He is risen!” and the reply would be, “He is risen indeed.”
Enjoy this beautiful spring! Enjoy all that our Savior has provided!
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
