Helping Others

The Bible says helping others is a fundamental command, rooted in Love for God and neighbor, emphasizing compassion, generosity, and service to all, especially the poor and needy.  Key themes include bearing each other's burdens, putting others interest first and sharing what one has, recongnizing that such acts please God and fulfull spiritual responsibilities.

*Deuteronomy 15:11 There will always be poor people in the land.  Therefore I command you to be open handed toward your fellowman who are poor and needy in your land.

*Proverbs 29:7 A Righteous man knows the rights of the poor, a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.

*Proverbs 11:25 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.

*Proverbs 22:9 The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

*Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression, bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.
